Vocal Dance and Voice Movement Integration (VMI) Practice is an intensive physical training integrating dance, movement, breath, voice, improvisation, physical repatterning and hands-on practice in order to train people to work professionally with the body. It’s unique feature is that it connects sound directly with movement supported by physical repatterning education and hands-on practice.
The training incorporates Patricia Bardi's innovative work, Vocal Dance, which frees the voice to be fully alive and reflected in one's expressive behavior and movement. It also includes VMI Practice which combines voice with movement to stimulate and organize the body's physical-perceptual-emotional awareness.
The practice consists of a comprehensive study of the human body drawing on experiential anatomy, physiology, human development, perception and body-oriented psychology to bring cognitive understanding into a whole body experience. This program attracts professionals such as health practitioners, movement therapists, somatic movement educators, body psychotherapists, performing artists and researchers.
